Study Abroad in Oaxaca, Mexico

Join Moorpark College on a faculty-led trip to enchanting colonial OAXACA, MEXICO!

Summer 2008 dates: June 1-28 (Session A) or June 1 - 14 (Session B)

In our host city of Oaxaca, discover a unique blend of both modern Mexico and a well-preserved ancient culture. The indigenous groups who once inhabited the nearby archaeological sites of Monte Albán, Mitla and Yagul continue to influence the language, lifestyle, food, culture and art of the area. Oaxaca today is known for the friendliness of its people, numerous historical sites, progressive cuisine, and as one of the major art and craft centers of Mexico.

The summer program is offered for either 3 or 5 credit units, with credit granted through Moorpark College in Moorpark, California. The program is open to both Moorpark and non- Moorpark students. The program includes a combination of Spanish classes, culture classes and a choice of excursions to local sites of interest.

This program is offered in conjunction with the National Registration Center for Study Abroad (NRCSA). NRCSA has been facilitating intercultural programs and exchange since 1968. Classes, lodging and activities are all hosted by the NRCSA center in Oaxaca - the Instituto Cultural Oaxaca.
